This is a new chapter for the book Where There is No Dentist. It is an attempt to put together useful information for the community dental worker on how to give good care in the midst of the HIV/AIDS crisis. It discusses how HIV/AIDS may affect the teeth and gums and how teeth and gum problem may be affected by HIV/AIDS. It also covers safe hygiene practices so as to prevent further spread of HIV, provides basic information on other risk factors, and discusses caring for PLHA in your community.
