The game consists of 60 cards - 30 questions and 30 answers. All the cards are shuffled and then arranged face down in rows. Each player turns over any two cards at random and reads them aloud. If the cards are a matching question and answer, the player keeps the pair of cards. If the pair is not a match, they are turned face down, and the next player takes his turn. It is a memory game in which players try to remember where specific cards are located and make pairs. At the end, the player with the most pairs of cards wins. The questions cover a variety of subjects related to HIV/AIDS including transmission, prevention, terminology, myths and misconceptions, and specific HIV statistics pertaining to India. The game was developed as part of the Jawaan hoon nadaan nahin! [I may be young, but I am not irresponsible!] campaign aimed at bringing about behavior change through sensitization of youth on their increased vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. The campaign addressed commonly-held myths and misconceptions to increase knowledge levels on HIV/AIDS and promote an attitude of responsible conduct, especially safe sexual behavior following the A-B-C approach (abstinence - being faithful - correct and consistent condom use). less
