Abstract: The Youth Passport is a guide designed to help adolescents and teenagers make good choices about their futures. It provides information about preventing HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STI), recognizing and dealing with pressure, and developing a life plan. It also encourages communication with partners and friends, discusses the importance of self-esteem, how to set boundaries, knowing one's HIV status, and living positively for those infected with HIV. Illustrations are used throughout the pamphlet including two adolescent characters (Dawit, who is male, and Azeb, who is female). Space is provided for youth to make notes and list other information such as their goals. Also includes an abstinence pledge. less
