Abstract: Kit designed for use in a media advocacy workshop to sensitize the press, electronic media journalists, advertising agency professionals and content creators such as script writers for TV and films on appropriate and ethical reporting practices and to encourage them to be accurate and responsible when reporting news stories or crafting messages related to HIV/AIDS.
The manual includes basic facts about HIV/AIDS, global facts and figures about the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and specific facts and figures for India. It includes a chapter of information resources including websites, state agencies, NGOs and positive people networks. The main thrust of the manual is encouraging responsible media behavior through chapters on specific language usage and terminology, ethical reporting, gender sensitivity, human rights, and legal concerns.
The CD-ROM includes all the documents in the manual plus additional reports and examples to support the message of responsible reporting.
The manual and CD are both abbreviated versions of the ones in KT IND 9, and many of the websites referenced are out-of-date.

Notes: Contains TR IND 48 and CD IND 2. Appears to be an outdated precursor to KT IND 9.
