Willows' mission is to raise awareness of women and young adults concerning their reproductive rights and to increase their access to accurate and comprehensive reproductive health information (including STIs and family planning) and high quality services. Willows Foundation accomplishes its educational activities with the participation of women and young adults from the communities in which the projects are carried out. An increased pool of trained volunteers and human resource empowerment are important aspects of the Willows' work; allowing the trained volunteer field educators to serve as "change agents" beyond the life of the Project, reinforcing the sustainability of the behavioral change within the community. In Ghana, Willows Foundation is currently working with two local NGOs that are implementing the community based approach with nearly 100 trained volunteer field educators. The project targets all reproductive aged women (estimated 125,000) living in Tema Municipality. less
